How do you clean roller blinds without taking them down?
The simplest method is a damp microfibre cloth. Extend the blind fully, then wipe gently from top to bottom. Avoid saturating the fabric — excess water can leave tide marks or weaken the coating.
For routine dust removal, a feather duster or the soft-brush attachment on your vacuum works well. Run it lightly across the extended fabric every fortnight and the surface stays fresh.
Stubborn marks need a targeted approach. Dilute a small measure of washing-up liquid in warm water and dab rather than rub. Blot dry with a clean towel to prevent spreading.
Moisture-resistant roller blinds, commonly fitted in kitchens and bathrooms, are even simpler to maintain. A standard multi-surface spray and a cloth will handle splashes without risk of damage.
Steer clear of bleach or abrasive cleaners on any roller blind. Harsh chemicals degrade the surface coating that keeps the fabric rolling smoothly and resisting UV fade.
If your blinds have accumulated heavy grease from cooking, replacement may be more practical than deep cleaning. We supply roller blinds in hundreds of fabrics, with complimentary fitting included.
