Are wooden blinds suitable for bedrooms?

Wooden blinds are an excellent bedroom choice because the adjustable slats give you precise control over how much daylight enters the room. They introduce a warm, organic texture that complements most interior schemes.

The slats can be tilted almost fully closed to block streetlights and early morning sun. Bear in mind that small gaps between the slats will always admit a sliver of light. If complete darkness is essential for restful sleep, consider pairing wooden blinds with blackout curtains or opting for a dedicated blackout roller instead.

Timber blinds perform best in rooms with stable humidity. Avoid them in en-suites or bathrooms with poor ventilation, where moisture can cause warping. Faux wood offers the same aesthetic without the risk.

Another practical advantage is sound. Wooden slats absorb more noise than aluminium alternatives, which can rattle in a draught. They also contribute a degree of thermal insulation, helping the room feel warmer in winter.

We supply wooden blinds in basswood and oak finishes, each crafted to your exact window dimensions. Complimentary measuring and fitting is included with every order.
